Each ~node~ has several incomming ~lymph~ vessels or |afferent vessels| emerging from the |cortex|. The |afferent vessels| transport the tissue fluid to the ~node~. Usually there is only one outgoing or efferent vessel. It extends directly from the |medulla| which reaches a portion of the surface of the ~node~. The efferent vessel carries the filtered fluid to the main duct.
